the world’s largest aerospace company, paid Wexler & Walker Public Policy Associates $120,000 in the second half of 2007lufthansa_boeing_707 to lobby the federal government, according to a disclosure form.The firm lobbied for implementation of a multibillion high-tech fence along the Arizona-Mexico border, according to the form posted online Friday by the Senate’s public records office.Boeing is the lead contractor on the construction of a 28-mile virtual fence that was to be operational by June 2007, but had been delayed. Boeing Appoints Engineering and Technology Leader in India.

Boeing Company announced that Naveed Hussain will serve in India as its Vice President of Engineering and Technology. “Naveed will strengthen our efforts to develop and implement engineering and technology strategies in this important and dynamic market that are mutually beneficial to India and Boeing,” said John Tracy, Boeing senior vice president of Engineering, Operations and Technology and chief technology officer. Boeing JV eyes huge deals in repairs.

A joint venture under the Boeing Co started construction of its first hangar in China to expand its network of aircraft modification and repair service business. The hangar, based at Shanghai Pudong International Airport and which can accommodate two wide-body aircraft when ready in April 2009, is built under the first phase for Boeing Shanghai Aviation Service Co. When its second phase is completed in 2010, Boeing Shanghai will have a four-bay hangar capable of housing four 747 or 777 wide-body aircraft, (more…)
