Air & Cosmos devotes a special report to the “insolent health” and “outstanding dynamism” of business aviation. The year 2007 was exceptional for the business aviation industry: new programmes, delivery growth, order highs and forays into new markets. Indeed, while strengthening its foothold in the US and Europe, business aviation made an amazing entry into younger markets like Russia, India, the Middle-East and Asia-Pacific. In 2007, the global business jet fleet grew 2.4%. Embraer expects the deliveries of 13,150 jets over the next decade, worth $ 201Bn. Bombardier relies on even more optimistic previsions of 13,200 jets entering service within the period, a market it values at $ 300Bn. For Dassault Aviation, 2007 saw the certification of its Falcon 7X and its first deliveries. Last January, EADS Socata unveiled the latest evolution of its TBM 850. The Tarbes-based company is also expected to give details soon of its future plane, which could be launched in 2009. Air & Cosmos
