Airbus announced Maz Aviation committed to purchasing six A350 XWB Prestige
At the Ebace business aviation show in Geneva yesterday, Airbus announced that Saudi airline Maz Aviation had committed to purchasing six A350 XWB Prestige variants for $ 1.5Bn at list prices. This marks the biggest contract ever won by Airbus in the VIP jet segment, notes Le Figaro Economie. The six aircraft –including one A350-800 and five A350-900s- will be fitted with VIP cabins and powered by Rolls Royce-built Trent engines. John Leahy, Airbus’s chief commercial officer, declared in a statement that “with this commitment, the Airbus A350 Prestige makes a very good start on the key VIP market in the Middle-East”. For his part, Maz Aviation CEO Mohammed Al Zeer commented: “The kind of client that buys a big-size VIP plane wants the best, and this is exactly what we get with the Airbus A350 XWB Prestige”.
