Airbus announced its intention to reduce by 50% both the noise and fuel consumption

At the Berlin Air Show, Airbus announced its intention to reduce by 50% both the noise and fuel consumption of its aircraft by 2020. Besides, the CO2 and nitric oxide emissions will be reduced by 50 to 80% over the same period. Thomas Enders stated that “Airbus wants to make its aircraft more efficient, cleaner and quieter. The eco efficiency of our products will be an essential criterion, on which we will measure our success”. Airbus displayed the A320 ATRA at the air show, a variant equipped with the fuel cell technology. DPA comments that this demonstrator was one of the main attractions at the ILA show. DPA (29/05)
