Jean-Cyril Spinetta, the CEO of Air France-KLM, urged Airbus and Boeing to accelerate the development of more fuel-efficient single -aisle aircraft. According to him, the A320 and 737 have not been improved fast enough to tackle the current context of skyrocketing fuel prices. Thomas Enders, for his part, said the fuelconsumption records of the A320 have considerably improved in recent years. Mr Spinetta also said he would support the development by Airbus of an extended version of the A380 superjumbo.
