La Tribune reports that Continental Airlines announced yesterday that it would sign up large-scale commercial cooperation with its US counterpart United Airlines, which will lead it to leave the SkyTeam alliance and join Star Alliance instead. This change should not be effective until 2009, after it is approved by the US Department of Transport. This alliance comes after both airlines announced massive restructuring plans.
