Aviation experts estimate that 25-30% of aircraft orders accumulated by Airbus and Boeing could be delayed or cancelled by airlines
Aviation experts cited by German magazine Focus estimate that 25-30% of aircraft orders accumulated by Airbus and Boeing could be delayed or cancelled by airlines, as the latter face difficulties in the context of ever-rising fuel prices. Airbus reportedly has some 3,655 aircraft on order, and Boeing 3,645. These orders have a combined value of about $ 850Bn. Besides, the two manufacturers plan to sell between 24,000 and 28,000 further aircraft by 2026, but these previsions are based on a barrel price of $80-90, says the weekly. Oil prices currently exceed $140 a barrel. AFP (28/06)
