Aeronautics suppliers are under high pressure, assesses Suddeutsche Zeitung. Suppliers like Austria’s Future Advanced Composite Components (FACC) are suffering from delays at Airbus and Boeing as well as from the weak dollar. FACC, a supplier of components for wings, fuselage and interior of the Airbus A330 and A380 models and the Boeing 787, has generated a considerable turnover increase in fiscal year 2007/08 but remains nevertheless in the red. A new plant especially built for production of Boeing 787 components will not be needed until 2010 and production of A380 components is only starting slowly, causing FACC to deal with investments of $ 85M without a significant income. Still, the company wants to build components for the new Airbus 350 XWB with the help of an investor. Suddeutsche Zeitung
