The insider trading probe has refuelled French-German tensions at EADS, thus somewhat ruining German Chancellor Merkel and French President Sarkozy’s initiative to end dual management at the company last year. Die Welt adds that the Power 8 restructuring programme also stirs resentment between French and German workers, as it seems to be implemented more slowly in Germany than in France. One of the ideas put forward would be to establish English as the company language in order to avoid language barriers. Die Welt
