Andreas Sperl, former Airbus CFO and current CEO of the Dresden-based production plant in Germany, was taken into custody by French police. EADS spokesman Pierre Bayle said Mr Sperl could be “assured of the backing by the board of directors” during the investigation into “unjustified allegations”. Mr Bayle added that the probe would not interfere with Mr Sperl’s responsibilities at the Dresden factory. Les Echos reports that the investigation will go on with hearings of some of EADS and Airbus top executives after the summer break. According to Hamburger Abendblatt, Thomas Enders could be summoned “soon”.
