EADS is expected to report an increase of almost 150% in its earnings before interest and tax for the second quarter of this year, fuelled by a continuing strong order inflow at Airbus as well as a faster pace of deliveries. Revenue is expected to rise by 2.6% to €9.75 billion, while net profit after minority payments is likely to rise by 364% to €376 million. However, several unknowns still remain, including the impact of currency hedging, and potential once-off charges booked in the second quarter related to the Airbus A380 superjumbo and A400M military airlifter programs. Analysts will be scrutinizing the earnings report to see if the company modifies its full-year guidance in the light of weakening demand in the industry. DowJones Newswires, (28/07)
